Friday, August 8th

Because of a change in schedule, we found ourselves with an extra 2 hours this morning. Just enough time to take another dip in the Caribbean Sea. It was glorious! The beautiful white sand and turquoise water was a well deserved reprieve for the whole team.

Just after lunch, we headed to the Catholic orphanage here in Jacmel. There were lots of kids there--especially babies. We all held them in our arms, and we couldn't even hold them all. Many of them were not well, and it was truly heartbreaking to know they lived in rooms with 12-15 other babies. Hardly any of them cried. I supposed they were all cried out... We sang to them, and shared a colorfully illustrated Bible lesson with the older children. It was a very moving experience there in the orphanage.

We went from there back to the House of Abraham to say goodbye to the children Fenel and Mimi care for, and before we left they sang and prayed for us!

We then continued on to visit a small chapel where on Fridays, Fenel and his wife Mimi minister to a poor community in a high mountain top village. After singing with the children there, we did a Bible lesson and then continued in worship to the Lord with the kids. As we continued to sing, the kids kept coming, and we finished with twice as many kids as we started with.

Finally, as we were walking back on the road to our truck we found amongst the poor, a little girl named Rebecca. Although she was clothed, the Lord put it on our hearts to give her a gift we had been carrying from a little boy named Wesley. His mom and dad showed him photos of the poor in Haiti and he wanted to help them. He sacrificed his own birthday gift to help the poor and that's exactly what he did. Not only were we able to replace the old clothes she was wearing with a brand new outfit, but we got a chance to tell little Rebecca that the God in heaven loves and cares for her. She even asked to receive Jesus in her heart!

We finished the evening with a study in the last few chapters of Acts, and we were blessed by the Word, and the leadership of Serg Fossa. A few more songs of praise and worship tonight, and tomorrow morning we head back to Port-Au-Prince to head home. It has truly been a life changing experience for all of us, an we want to Thank our many family and friends who helped make this trip possible. May the Lord bless you many times over for your prayers and support.

Another wonderful day of ministry as we returned to the House of Abraham. We finished up most of the projects we started the day before. The painting of the rooms, the scripture, and the mural. A lot of progress was made with the building project as we finished the floor and all 4 walls.

During the time these projects were happening, we sent a small team to visit with the locals in the area. We had another fun day of sharing the Love and faithfulness of God.

Today we visited the House of Abraham, here in Jacmel. This is a compound where 13 Haitian children are educated and cared for. We started a number of different projects that will take several days to accomplish. The first is a new classroom where only the footings existed. With John Heulitt leading the charge, by the end of the day we had the entire floor framed out and the plywood installed. Another project was painting the walls in two new bedrooms that were just recently finished. There are two stencil projects. The first is a large scripture on the front wall of a building, and the other is a painting of a jungle theme. We moved along nicely with each project, and ended the visit at the House of Abraham with a soccer game with the children.

Hot and tired, we headed to the beach to cool down. However, halfway there a heavy downpour of rain nearly discouraged us from going. Already soaked from sitting in an open truck, we continued to a gloriously refreshing dip in the Caribbean sea. We are all so blessed physically and spiritually.

We began the day once again with prayer at sunrise. What a glorious sight to see these young adults with such a beautiful love for God. We continued our study in the book of Acts with Sergio leading an amazing time of devotion.
After breakfast Pastor Brian came into the large meeting room to give us the days itinerary. But before he did, he gave us a breathtaking Bible study on Ezekiel 36-39 based on current events in the Middle East. In conclusion he exhorted us all to seize the moment as we live these last days for Christ.

We followed up with a trip to the same tent city we visited the day we arrived in Port-Au-Prince. We hiked in to what turned out to be unimaginable poverty. We brought adult care packages, candy, and toys, but could not even scratch the surface of the immense physical need of these people. However our goal was not just to help with the physical needs but more importantly--their spiritual needs. We handed out hundreds of tracts with the good news of God's Salvation. Sergio the evangelist seized the moment and began to preach the gospel with the help of an interpreter. What a glorious moment it turned out to be.

Team is on the ground in Haiti and all are doing well. The last two days have been filled with many opportunities for ministry. The team has been involved in outreaches which included teaching, VBS and light construction projects. Tomorrow they will be in Port Au Prince until the afternoon and heading down to Jacmel for the remainder of the week. Please continue to pray for the outreaches and the team.
